What is Power BI?
Power BI is Microsoft's business analytics tool. It connects to your data, lets you build interactive reports and dashboards, and shares them securely with your team.
Is Power BI free?
Power BI Desktop is free to build reports. Sharing reports with other people in your organisation normally needs Power BI licences, and some Microsoft 365 enterprise plans include them. We check what you need before you spend anything.
What data can Power BI connect to?
Hundreds of sources, including Excel, SharePoint, databases, cloud services, and many accounting and CRM systems. Tell us what you use and we will confirm it can connect.
Can Power BI replace our monthly spreadsheet reports?
Often, yes. Once the data connection is built, the report updates itself, which saves the monthly effort and reduces copy and paste errors.
Is our data safe in Power BI?
Power BI uses your Microsoft 365 sign-in and permissions. We set up role-based access so people only see the data they should, and we review sharing settings.
Do we need a data warehouse?
Not usually. Many small and medium businesses get what they need by connecting directly to the systems they already use. If your needs grow, we will tell you.
How long does a Power BI project take?
A first dashboard can often be built in a couple of weeks once the data is accessible. Larger projects take longer. After the discovery we give you a clear plan.
