GOVERNMENT
IT Support for Government
Secure, well-documented IT for local councils and government agencies. We help public sector teams protect community data, work toward the Essential Eight and keep services running for the people who rely on them.
How we help government teams
Public sector IT has to be secure, accountable and dependable, often with tight budgets and small teams.
Essential Eight uplift
We assess where you stand against ASD's Essential Eight and build a practical plan to lift your maturity, one control at a time.
Protecting community data
Microsoft 365 permissions, sensitivity labels and multi-factor authentication help keep resident and staff information where it belongs.
Incident response planning
We help you write and test a cyber incident response plan, so everyone knows what to do and who to call if something goes wrong.
Depots and remote sites
Reliable internet, Wi-Fi and backup links for offices, depots, libraries and outdoor sites, with failover so services keep running.
Phones for the public
Cloud phone systems with call queues, after-hours routing and reporting, so community calls reach the right team.
Help desk for busy teams
A responsive help desk that supports your in-house IT staff, or acts as your whole IT team.
Government IT support: security you can show
Government teams are accountable for how they protect information. Your IT should make that easier to demonstrate.
The Essential Eight baseline
Since 1 July 2022, the Protective Security Policy Framework has required non-corporate Commonwealth entities to implement all Essential Eight strategies to at least Maturity Level Two. It is a sensible benchmark for councils and state agencies too.
Progress you can report
ASD reported that only 22 per cent of Commonwealth entities reached overall Maturity Level Two in 2025. We track your controls so you can show real progress to management and auditors.
Council cyber guidelines
NSW councils have Cyber Security Guidelines for Local Government. They are voluntary, and in 2024 the Audit Office of NSW found the three councils it audited were not effectively managing cyber security risks. We help you put the basics in place.
Contractor and supplier access
Contractors and vendors get only the access they need, for only as long as they need it, with sign-in records you can review.
Backups you can restore
We set up backups and test restores, so records, finance systems and files can be recovered after an outage or attack.
Policies and documentation
Clear records of your systems, access and changes make audits, handovers and incident reviews far simpler.
IT that serves the community
Councils and agencies deliver services that people depend on every day. We set up secure, well-managed systems that keep staff productive and community data protected, whether your team works from the office, a depot or the field.
We work alongside in-house IT teams or act as your IT department. See our Essential Eight services.

Business internetGovernment IT support FAQs
Can you help us reach Essential Eight Maturity Level Two?
Yes. We assess your current maturity, prioritise the gaps and put the controls in place step by step, with reporting so you can track progress.
Do you work with in-house IT teams?
Yes. We can take on specific projects, provide after-hours cover or support your team's help desk, so your staff can focus on priorities.
Can you support depots, libraries and remote sites?
Yes. We provide internet, Wi-Fi and backup connectivity for multiple sites, with central management and monitoring.
Is the Essential Eight mandatory for councils?
Under the Protective Security Policy Framework it is mandatory for non-corporate Commonwealth entities. NSW councils have voluntary Cyber Security Guidelines for Local Government, and the Essential Eight is a practical baseline for any council.
Can you help us prepare a cyber incident response plan?
Yes. We help you document roles, contacts and steps for common incidents, then run a tabletop exercise so the plan is tested before you need it.
How do you manage contractor and supplier access?
We set up named accounts with multi-factor authentication, limit access to what each person needs and remove it when the work ends.
Where should we report a cyber incident?
Report it to ASD through ReportCyber at cyber.gov.au, or call the Australian Cyber Security Hotline on 1300 CYBER1 (1300 292 371). We can help you respond and recover.
