What is Vodia PBX?
Vodia PBX is a business phone system built on the SIP standard, which means it works with a wide range of phones, carriers and apps instead of locking you into one vendor. Vodia says it has been delivering the platform since 2012 and that it serves more than half a million users worldwide.
On tsit.cloud we run it for you. We host it, upgrade it, monitor it and support your team, and there is no limit on users or sites. We also run our own office phones on Vodia, including our Microsoft Teams calling, so we know it well.

What Vodia PBX V70 can do for your business
Vodia released a V70 preview in November 2025 and made it an official release on 31 March 2026. Here is what it means in practice.

AI that answers, screens and calls on your behalf
V70 builds AI directly into the phone system. Vodia’s voice agents work with the extensions, queues and rules you already have, so AI can be added to selected calls without rebuilding your setup. It can connect to AI services including OpenAI, Gemini, ElevenLabs and Ollama. What that enables:
- A digital receptionist. Callers say what they need in their own words instead of working through “press 1 for sales”, and the AI routes the call or answers the question. It can help reduce missed calls.
- AI call screening. The AI greets the caller, finds out why they are calling, then transfers the call with a summary so your team already knows the reason.
- Caller verification. Confirm who is calling using keypad entry, one-time codes or other identity checks before a call goes through.
- Automated outbound calls. Appointment reminders, notifications, surveys and follow-ups can be triggered automatically, powered by OpenAI’s Realtime API.
- Call transcripts and summaries. Calls can be transcribed locally, with AI producing summaries, sentiment, topics and action items.
On privacy, Vodia says customers control whether AI is used, what information is shared and where processing happens, whether that is a public AI provider, a private deployment or a self-hosted model. Vodia also says it does not listen to, store or analyse customer calls unless the customer explicitly configures that access.

Live dashboards and reporting
V70 includes live dashboards so managers can see what is happening as it happens, without extra software. The examples Vodia provides cover:
- Agent activity: who is available and how calls are going, for coaching and balancing the team.
- Queue analytics: trends, peak periods and service levels, to help with staffing decisions.
- Queue overview: the state of every queue at a glance, so you can step in early.
- Call recordings and transcriptions: search past conversations by text for quality checks and training.
- Call analytics: call quality and team productivity across the business.
Your staff portal can also open on a branded welcome screen or a live queue monitor, set up for the whole business or for individual people.

Reliable by design
- Problems found early. The system watches registrations, carrier connections, call queues and disk space, and raises an alert when something needs attention, so issues can be fixed before your staff notice.
- Safer updates. Instant snapshots let us take a complete copy of your system before a change and roll back quickly if anything goes wrong, without downtime.
- Visibility across sites. For businesses with more than one location, presence and busy-lamp information can be shared between sites, so reception can see who is free to take a call.
Smarter call handling
- Skills-based routing. Calls can be sent to the person best suited to take them, such as someone who speaks the caller’s language or has the right expertise.
- Smarter schedules. Opening-hours and after-hours rules can include several events, connect to external calendars, and warn when two events overlap, which makes holidays and special days easier to get right.
- Alerts that call people. Staff can trigger an emergency or notification alert, and the system can notify people through several channels and automatically ring designated numbers. Vodia highlights schools, hotels and healthcare facilities as natural uses.
- Consistent caller ID. Your business presents the right number across all of your locations.
More ways for customers to reach you
- WhatsApp calling. Customers can call your business number from WhatsApp and the call arrives in your phone system, with no extra gateway, ready to be routed to people, queues, menus or an AI voice agent.
- WhatsApp messaging. Incoming and outgoing text and image messages, handled with the same routing as your calls.
- SMS and MMS alongside voice, from the same platform.
- Video meetings. A built-in Jitsi Meet integration for video conferencing.
A better portal and apps for your team
V70 refreshes the portal your staff use every day, with a cleaner layout, easier access to calls, voicemail, recordings and personal settings, improved voicemail and call history views, and a dark mode for comfortable use all day.
What is new in Vodia PBX 70.6
Version 70.6 is the latest build in Vodia’s official release notes. Most of it is polish, but several changes make the phone system more reliable and easier to use day to day. The rest is behind-the-scenes housekeeping that we handle for you.
More reliable calling
- Smoother recovery after a restart. Connections to phone carriers now come back in a staggered way instead of all at once, which avoids a rush of traffic when the system starts up or recovers from a fault.
- Better calling on poor networks. Calls made from a browser or the mobile app cope better when the internet connection drops or delays data.
- Smarter call handling. More options for announcing a redirection once a call is already ringing, extra time for callers to choose an option in voicemail, and the ability to let chosen callers always reach a staff member’s mobile.
More control over call recording
- The recording tone can now be set for each person, not just for the whole business.
- Staff can receive emailed copies of recordings for all their calls, including calls that were recorded automatically.
- Better compatibility with stereo call recordings.
Smarter AI voice agents
- Calls started by an AI voice agent can now be controlled, for example cancelled, which gives you more command over automated reminder and notification calls.
- More flexible connections to different AI services.
A better experience for your team
- Richer messaging: in-chat audio playback and voice notes, image and video previews, and reply, forward and copy on every kind of message.
- A reworked queue view for people who answer calls from a queue.
- Company names from your contact list now appear in call lists, so you can see who called at a glance.
- Clearer status icons at the top of the portal for connection, Do Not Disturb, notifications and audio.
Microsoft Teams and Vodia PBX
If your team lives in Microsoft Teams, you do not have to choose between Teams and a proper phone system. Your people can make and receive business calls from Teams using their normal business number, while Vodia handles the phone numbers, queues, auto attendants and carrier connections behind the scenes. Our Microsoft Teams Calling page covers how we deliver this. Vodia’s Teams support includes:
- Calls from Teams through Microsoft’s Direct Routing.
- Presence that matches. Your status in Teams and on the phone system stays in sync, including Do Not Disturb in both directions.
- Your Microsoft 365 directory flowing into the phone system, so your people appear without anyone retyping them.
- Teams users in call queues, so staff who work only in Teams can still take calls from a queue.
Direct Routing needs Microsoft licences that support it, such as Teams Phone Standard with Microsoft 365 Business Standard, or E3 with the Phone System add-on, or E5, according to Vodia’s documentation. We check your licences with you and handle the setup.

Contact centre and everyday call handling
Whether you run a front desk or a busy support line, the call handling is built in rather than bolted on:
- Auto attendants and menus with multiple levels, keypad input, text-to-speech and AI voice agents.
- Call queues with agent login and logout, skills-based routing, wrap-up codes, queue announcements, outbound call lists, reporting and service-level alerts.
- Hunt groups, call forwarding and mobile twinning so calls find your people wherever they are.
- Voicemail and call recording, with voicemail delivered to email.
- Conferencing and paging, including video meetings and paging when a call is parked.

Phones, apps and devices
You do not have to replace your phones to move to Vodia. Because it is SIP-standard, it works with a very wide range of desk phones, DECT cordless systems, paging devices and intercoms. Vodia lists about 490 supported models, including phones from Yealink, snom, Fanvil, Grandstream, Poly, Cisco, Avaya and Gigaset, plus paging devices from CyberData. That figure is Vodia’s own, so send us your models and we will confirm yours.
- Phones that set themselves up. Supported handsets are configured automatically when they come online, so a new phone is ready to use quickly.
- Desktop app: a native Windows softphone for calling, presence and messaging.
- Web client: make and take calls in your browser, with nothing to install.
- Mobile apps: Android and iOS apps for calling and notifications away from your desk.

Security and your data
- Encrypted communications protect call signalling and media.
- Single sign-on lets staff sign in to the portal with Microsoft, Google or other SAML identity providers.
- Nuisance caller blocking, including blocking whole number ranges with wildcards.
- Your recordings stay under your control, and calls can be transcribed locally so audio is not sent to an outside service.
Built for your industry
Vodia includes extension types and workflows for specific environments, such as hotel rooms, classrooms, queue agents, hot desks and shared phones. Here is how that maps to the industries we support:
- Medical and fertility clinics: reception queues, overflow, automated appointment reminders and recordings that keep patients connected. See our clinic IT support page.
- Aged care and community providers: the alerts system can notify staff by app and by phone call in an emergency. See IT support for community and aged care.
- Real estate and storage: call queues, mobile forwarding and multi-site calling so no enquiry goes unanswered. See IT support for real estate and storage.
- Schools, hotels and public sector: Vodia also lists hospitality, education, public sector and maritime solutions, including hotel system integration.

We host it and we manage it
With tsit.cloud, you get the benefits of Vodia without running any of it yourself. We look after:
- Hosting, so there is no phone system box to maintain on your site.
- Upgrades, including new versions such as V70, tested and rolled out safely using snapshots.
- Monitoring, so problems are spotted early.
- Changes, such as adding people, new sites, opening hours and call routes.
- Support, from the same team that looks after your internet, Microsoft 365 and cyber security if you want one point of contact.
There is no limit on users or sites, so you can add people and locations as you grow.
Things to consider before you move
No platform suits everyone, so here are the honest trade-offs:
- AI features rely on third parties. Voice agents use AI services such as OpenAI, which are set up and paid for separately. We will help you decide what information may be shared with them, and we suggest starting with a small pilot.
- Recording and AI have legal requirements. Recording calls and using AI to handle them has rules in Australia, and they vary by state. Tell callers, set up announcements properly and take legal advice for your situation.
- Teams calling needs eligible Microsoft licences and careful setup. It suits many teams, but it is not the right answer for every reception or contact centre.
- Features depend on what is enabled for your business. We will confirm exactly what is included for you before you commit.
- Vendor figures are vendor figures. Numbers such as supported phone models come from Vodia, so we verify the details that matter for your site.
Why choose Total Solutions IT for your phone system
- We run it ourselves. Our own office phones are on Vodia, including our Microsoft Teams calling.
- One team for the whole picture. Phones, business internet, Microsoft 365 and cyber security from the same people, so there is no finger-pointing between suppliers.
- Keep what works. We support Yealink and Grandstream handsets and can often keep the phones you already own. We also support existing systems such as Avaya IP Office and Ericsson-LG iPECS while you plan a move.
- A clear process. We plan your call flows, port your numbers, set up your phones and apps, and go live with you. See our business phone systems page for the options.
