LG Ericsson LIP-8050V Phone Video handset (Advanced/ reception)
This is the one of the best models of the latest LIP-8000 series IP handsets. It offers most of the functionality of the top of the line LG LIP-9070 phone except the screen isn’t as large and it is not a touch screen. What sets the LIP-8050V phone (and the LIP-9070) apart is not just the colour screen but the ability for the phone to video conference on screen. This can be done with another LIP-8050V phone, anLIP-9070 handset, Phontage as well as an IP door station. The IP door intercom is simply a front door camera an intercom that allows you to hear and see someone before you hit a door release to let them in. For most applications, colour screen and video is complete overkill and the extra cost will provide no additional benefit over the cheaper alternatives.
Using the Ericsson LG LIP-8050V phone handset is simple thanks to one touch button operations and user friendly features such as the navigation and soft-menu keys. The LIP-8050V also offers full duplex HD quality speakerphone so you can talk hands free at the highest audio quality. The LIP-8050V handset is able to connect anywhere that offers a LAN connection and supports the IEEE 802.11af Power-over-Ethernet standard so a separate power connection is not required.
For most offices, unless you get a video intercom, your best bet is to look to the cheaper models as they still offer the same phone functionality. The LIP-8040L for example still has the same soft keys you’d expect from an IP handset. Soft keys are buttons next to the screen on the phone that display labels on screen when they are programmed. The cheaper models like the LIP-8024D and LIP-8012 phone both have consoles down the side that you print labels with names for frequently dialled numbers or common functions. They don’t dynamically update on screen but this is more than adequate for many customers when they weigh up the cost and benefits. The LIP-8050V phone is part of the LG Ericsson LIP 8000 series which means they are compatible with the new LG iPECS range (LG iPECS 50 phone system, LG iPECS 100, LG iPECS 300, 600 and 1200) as well as the LG Ericsson iPECS SBG-1000 phone system for smaller businesses. As a cheaper alternative for staff that may not need a premium handset you should also consider the cheaper /handset/lg-ericsson-lip-8040l-phone-handset/LIP-8040L phone and the popular LIP-8012D.
