The LDP-9240D is an advanced handset of the iPECS 9200 series. The redesigned features and instinctive interface provides high voice quality, progressive applications and improves the user experience. The key differences between the basic and advanced models are that the LDP-9240D has a backlit LCD, 12 flexible buttons, a navigation key and full-duplex speakerphone; whereas the LDP-9208D has LCD without backlight, 8 flexible buttons, no navigation key and a half-duplex speakerphone.
Many users have noted that the central difference between the LDP-9240D and LDP-9208D is that this more advanced model has Wideband Audio, and therefore better sound quality. The more basic models use Narrowband Audio. Narrowband is the more traditional audio system, whereas Wideband is often known as ‘HD voice’. Wideband Audio extends the frequency range, and so results in higher quality audio with clearer sounds and an increased ability to distinguish confusing accents or background noise.
Due to the enhanced features, we have found that clients tend to prefer this advanced model. The LDP-9240D also features a support button kit- something that is not offered by the LDP-9208D and proves useful within developing businesses. This kit ensures that the handset is customisable and compatible with all DSS options, unlike some previous models.
The handset is very user-friendly with the buttons easily navigated and locatable- the number/keypad to the left, and features such as transfer, headset, directory etc. to the right.
In addition to being easy to use, the LDP-9240D is simple to install and maintain. As with all iPECS 9200 series handsets, the LDP-9240D model uses Web Manager Install Wizard to provide simple steps for easy installation. Furthermore, the handset uses a sophisticated HTML5 based Web Admin – a computerised maintenance management system. So, the LDP-9240D is both simple to install and simple to maintain.
The 12 buttons on the LDP-9240D can access 2 pages, and so there are a total of 24 feature keys The features can easily be programmed to fit the needs of the individual user. With these programmable features you can manage the following:
- Centralised Attendant/Voicemail
- Web Call Back
- Green Power Save
- Mobile Extension
- Automatic Call Distribution
By having so many functions this handset could easily have become over complicated, however, clients have found the LDP-9240D has been designed intelligently and neatly – for example, the arrow function allows the user to navigate the programmable quick dial function, with flashing lights indicating which users are currently on a call. With all of the basic features such as Caller Id, Hold, etc., and the more advanced functions which include Auto Attendant with both mobile and email notification, this handset model is rich with both features and applications.
The LDP-9240D is perfect for growing businesses. You could start using just a few handsets in your business paired with an iPECS eMG 80 and easily increase to over 100 handsets as your business grows. The system also has an Electronic Hook Switch Adaptor, allowing the handset to electronically connect a wireless headset and phone, and makes switching from handset to headset accomplished with ease at the push of a button. Furthermore, the LDP-9240D supports SIP trunking, multi-site networking and remote connectivity.
