Ericsson-LG LIP-9002 – Entry Level IP Phone

The LIP-9002 is a basic handset of the iPECS LIP-9000 series. This particular handset the most basic of the LIP-9000 range, therefore an e inexpensive option belonging to the iPECS LIP-9000 succession. When comparing the whole range, we have found that the key differences between the basic and advanced models are that the LIP-9002 features 2-line backlit grey graphic, a half-duplex speaker phone and 4 programmable feature keys, whereas the more advanced models in the series may include superior features such as colour graphic display, up to 36 programmable buttons, full duplex speaker and EHSA.

Additionally, the LIP-9002 uses Narrowband Audio. The other models within the series use Wideband Audio. Narrowband is the more traditional audio system, whereas Wideband is often known as ‘HD voice’. Our clients have found that the more refined Wideband Audio results in clearer, more defined sound. Nevertheless, the Narrowband Audio of the LIP-9002 is still satisfactory for many customers and is key to the competitive price of the LIP-9002.

The handset is very user-friendly with the buttons easily navigated and locatable- the number/keypad to the left, fixed feature buttons to the right and four programmable feature buttons above the number pad. This model is very simple and forthright in its design. Often telephone handsets can be confusing and complicated to first time users, yet our patrons who have used this model have commented on its ease of use, especially for employees who have not used any kind of office telephone system previously.

Along with the simplicity of use, the LIP-9002 also comes with the support you need to implement and use Open VPN. The Open VPN allows you to create secure point-to-point or site-to-site connections and uses a custom security protocol for key exchange.

Then there are also the 4 programmable buttons. With these programmable features, you implement features such as DSS/BLF and Outside Line.

Therefore, with the 4 programmable feature keys and 10 fixed features, the LIP-9002 is well-organised and logical in design, which then translates into the straightforwardness of use offered by this handset. Users have reported that the LIP-9002 has the perfect number of features and benefits required by smaller organisations, such as receptions at medical centres, lobbies at offices and manufacturing and retail stores. The reduced functionality compared to other models in the series not only contributes to the affordability of the LIP-9002, but also the convenience and accessibility of the handset.
